Endeavour Leadership Program

The Endeavour Leadership Program was an initiative by the Australian Government aimed at fostering educational and professional exchanges between Australia and the rest of the world. Established under the Endeavour Awards, the program was designed to support international students, researchers, and professionals by providing them with opportunities to undertake study, research, and professional development in Australia or to engage in leadership and training programs in their home countries.

The purpose of the Endeavour Leadership Program was to enhance the global mobility of individuals by providing them with the necessary financial support and resources to participate in high-impact educational and professional development opportunities. The program was focused on developing global leaders, strengthening international relations, and fostering mutual understanding between Australia and other countries. By supporting individuals in advancing their knowledge and skills, the Endeavour Leadership Program aimed to contribute to both personal and professional growth and to build a network of globally engaged leaders.

The program offered scholarships and fellowships covering a range of activities, including postgraduate studies, research projects, and professional training. It provided funding for tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and other related expenses. The Endeavour Leadership Program was instrumental in helping participants gain valuable international experience, build professional networks, and contribute to the global exchange of knowledge and innovation.

While the Endeavour Leadership Program was discontinued in 2020, its legacy continues through various other Australian Government scholarship and fellowship programs that aim to support global educational and professional exchanges.

Qualification

To be eligible for the Endeavour Leadership Program, applicants needed to meet specific criteria depending on the type of scholarship or fellowship they were applying for. Generally, candidates were required to be citizens of an eligible country, with qualifications and experience relevant to their chosen program. For research or study opportunities, applicants typically needed to have completed relevant prior qualifications (such as a bachelor’s degree for postgraduate study or a Ph.D. for research fellowships). In addition, candidates needed to demonstrate a strong academic and professional track record, including relevant work experience, leadership potential, and a clear plan for how their proposed project or study would contribute to their personal and professional development.

Experience

Applicants for the Endeavour Leadership Program should have a solid background in their field of study or professional area. This includes a demonstrated record of academic achievements, relevant work experience, and contributions to their field. Experience in leadership roles, project management, or international collaborations was highly valued. Candidates should be able to articulate their career goals and how the program would help them achieve these objectives. The program aimed to support individuals who have shown potential for significant impact in their respective fields and who could benefit from the opportunity to develop their skills and networks on a global scale.
