The Dazhong (Dave) Zhao Lab at UWM invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join our plant molecular genetics and developmental biology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects focused on fundamental and applied plant science.
🔬 About the Research
The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge studies including:
• Molecular mechanisms controlling cell fate during anther and ovule development in Arabidopsis
• Development of novel hybrid breeding methods for crops using advanced genetic engineering tools
• Genetic dissection of parthenocarpy (seedless fruit development) pathways in tomato

👩🔬 Candidate Profile
We seek candidates with:
✅ A Ph.D. in plant molecular biology, genetics, or related field
✅ Passion for plant research and excellent problem-solving skills
✅ Experience in mutant phenotyping and genotyping, protein interactions, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, RNA-seq, or ChIP-seq preferred
✅ Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
