The research group Genetics and Physiology of Root Development at IPK Gatersleben investigates root anatomical and architectural traits in cereals, with a special focus on barley. The aim is to understand the physiological roles of roots under abiotic stresses and to explore the genetic basis of these traits using high-throughput phenotyping and forward genetics.

  • MSc in Plant Science, Crop Science, Biology, or a related field 
  • Experience in plant cultivation and phenotyping (greenhouse & field) 
  • Skills in root phenotyping, image analysis, or simulation modeling 
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data handling 
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities 
  • Passion for plant physiology and root biology

  • ๐Ÿ•’ Duration: 3 years (part-time) 
  • ๐Ÿ’ถ Salary: up to 65% of E13 TV-L (German public service scale)
