The research group Genetics and Physiology of Root Development at IPK Gatersleben investigates root anatomical and architectural traits in cereals, with a special focus on barley. The aim is to understand the physiological roles of roots under abiotic stresses and to explore the genetic basis of these traits using high-throughput phenotyping and forward genetics.

- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data handling
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Passion for plant physiology and root biology
