Are you curious about how telomere dysfunction drives aging and disease? Do you want to work with animal models, organoids, and human tissue to uncover the molecular and cellular consequences of telomere shortening?
The lab at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the intersection of telomere biology, metabolism, cell differentiation, and age-associated diseases such as lung fibrosis and reproductive failure.
๐ฌ Research Themes
- Telomere shortening and mitochondrial dysfunction
- Organoid and animal models of tissue degeneration
- Aging-related pathology in lung, reproductive organs, and intestine
- Telomerase knockout models (mouse, rat)
- Transcriptomic, proteomic, and imaging-based analysis of tissue architecture and function
๐งช Techniques Youโll Use
- Organoid culture, tissue dissection, microscopy (TEM, SEM)
- Single-cell RNA-seq, RT-qPCR, western blot, immunohistochemistry
- In vivo experiments using rodent models
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary project development
๐ Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.D. in life sciences, cell biology, genetics, or a related field
- Familiarity with or strong interest in telomere biology, aging, or disease models
- Experience with molecular biology techniques required
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications
- Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
- Eager to work both independently and collaboratively
- Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic about learning new techniques
๐ Why Join Us?
