The FINATRAX Research Group at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to explore cutting-edge methods in Data Anonymization and Synthetic Data Generation. This position is part of a vibrant interdisciplinary team and funded in collaboration with Luxembourg’s Leader Energy Group and other industry partners.

🧠 Research Focus

  • Development and evaluation of state-of-the-art anonymization techniques

  • Risk analysis for re-identification and de-anonymization

  • Synthetic data generation with emphasis on utility, privacy, and regulatory implications

  • Benchmarking, deployment, and real-world applications of anonymization pipelines

🎯 Your Role

  • Lead technical R&D on data anonymization, privacy, and secure data handling

  • Supervise and guide PhD and Master’s students

  • Publish in top-tier journals and conferences (Scopus Q1)

  • Collaborate on industry-funded and public research projects

  • Contribute to grant proposal writing and development of new partnerships

  • Actively participate in the interdisciplinary culture of FINATRAX (law, tech, policy, business)

🎓 Your Profile

  • PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields

  • Track record of high-quality publications

  • Familiarity with design science, interdisciplinary research, and privacy-by-design methods

  • Experience in project coordination or proposal writing

  • Strong communication skills in English (other languages not required)

  • Curious, creative, collaborative, and proactive
