General Information !
The Women Scientific Research Fellow Program by RFCSR is designed to support women researchers who lack formal scholarships or financial backing. We recognize the challenges many women face in pursuing scientific careers, particularly when funding is limited. This program offers financial assistance for research, academic travel, participation in international scientific events, and skill development programs.
Our goal is to enable greater equity and inclusion in science by removing financial barriers for emerging and early-career women scientists.
Eligibility Criteria !
To apply, applicants must:
- Identify as a woman in science.
- Be affiliated with an accredited academic or research institution.
- Be actively engaged in research or scholarly work.
- Not currently hold a full scholarship or equivalent fellowship.
- Be applying for support related to research, fieldwork, training, or conference participation.
- Demonstrate potential for impact in their field of study.
!Note: Priority is given to applicants from underrepresented academic or scientific institutions, and those demonstrating strong academic merit.
Application Process !

- The submitted applications are reviewed by a selection committee of researchers and professionals.
- Selected candidates will be notified via email within 6–8 weeks.
- Grants will be disbursed based on need, timeline, and verification of participation or activity.

Guidelines for Implementation !
- Funds can be used for:
- Progress updates every 3 months.
- Travel to conferences, workshops, or research sites.
- Research-related materials, services, or fees.
- Short-term skill development or training.
- Funds are to be used for research-related and essential expenses only.
- A utilization report and proof of completion must be submitted within 2 months after the supported activity.
- Any changes to the proposed plan must be approved in advance.
- Acknowledgment of RFCSR in publications and dissertation is required.
- The grant is non-renewable and non-transferable.
- Misuse of funds or lack of reporting may result in termination of support.

Can I apply if I have partial institutional funding?
Yes, but priority is given to those with no funding at all or their funding is going to end soon.
Are applicants from any organization eligible?
Yes. This is a global program, open to researchers regardless of organization.
Do I need to be enrolled in a PhD program to apply?
No, Master’s students, early-career researchers, and postdocs are also eligible.
How much funding will I receive?
It depends on your request, financial need, and available resources — typically modest monthly or partial support.
Is international travel supported?
Yes, if it’s directly related to research, training, or conferences.
Can I apply if I’m on maternity leave or career break?
Yes, especially if returning to research; explain your situation clearly in the application.
How many times can I apply?
Multiple applications are allowed. Repeat awards are subject to performance and availability.
Can I use the funding for publication fees?
Not under this program. Please apply through our separate Publication Grant Program for that purpose.
