The Janga Lab in the Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University (TTU) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an innovative team working at the intersection of genome editing, functional genomics, and bioinformatics.

🧬 About the Role
You will lead cutting-edge research aimed at improving agronomic traits in crops such as cotton, rice, peanut, maize, sorghum, and soybean. The position offers hands-on experience with:

  • Agrobacterium-mediated & biolistic transformation protocols

  • CRISPR/Cas9 and Cas13 genome editing

  • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) & transcriptome profiling

  • GWAS, QTL mapping, and bioinformatics-driven discovery pipelines

You will also collaborate with transformation specialists, analyze large-scale genomics data, prepare manuscripts and contribute to grant development—all while helping mentor students and optimize lab operations.

  • Experience in plant tissue culture, genetic transformation, and CRISPR-based editing

  • Strong publication record and communication skills

  • A team-oriented mindset and ability to work independently
