The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to lead experimental validation and testbed development for 5G/6G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and satellite communication systems.

Join a global R&D effort at the forefront of aerospace, wireless communications, and experimental validation platforms. Collaborate with academic and industry partners to shape the future of UAVs, broadcast services, and urban air mobility through emulators, SDRs, and real-world drone/satellite testing.

🚀 Your Role

  • Research and implement cutting-edge 3GPP protocols in MATLAB, OpenAirInterface, or similar

  • Develop and validate prototypes and testbeds for NTNs, UAVs, and multicast/broadcast services

  • Operate SDRs (e.g., USRPs) and deploy field tests with satellites/drones

  • Disseminate research in top journals/conferences and contribute to funding proposals

  • Mentor PhD students and support technical deliverables for research projects

🎓 Your Profile

  • Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field

  • Strong understanding of 3GPP 5G RAN/core protocols

  • Programming in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, bash scripting

  • Experience with OpenAirInterface, Docker, Git, Jenkins, and Linux environments

  • Bonus: familiarity with srsRAN, O-RAN, STK, ns-3, or orbit propagation tools

  • Previous involvement in industrial or public research projects is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication skills and international mindset
