Sandia National Laboratories invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our Compound Semiconductor Microelectronics team. This position is an opportunity to drive forward cutting-edge III-V semiconductor research in support of national security applications.

π¬ Your Role & Responsibilities
You will:
- Design, fabricate, and characterize microelectronic/optoelectronic devices
- Conduct hands-on R&D with III-V compound semiconductors (GaAs, InP, GaSb)
- Lead experimental work in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), process development, and device simulation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver results from basic research to TRL6 product development
- Author scientific publications, present findings, and support new business development

- III-V materials systems: Phosphides, Arsenides, Antimonides
- Microelectronics: GaAs-based devices
- Optoelectronics: InP/GaSb photonic systems
- Technology readiness levels (TRL3βTRL6) development for critical applications
π Qualifications

Required:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or related field (earned within the last 5 years)
- Strong foundation in semiconductor device fabrication, modeling, or characterization
- U.S. Citizenship (required to obtain a DOE L security clearance)
β Preferred:
- Experience with molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and heterostructure design
- Proficiency in simulation and fabrication of semiconductor devices
- Proven research productivity (e.g., publications, patents, or conference talks)
