About the Position

This fully funded doctoral position at Chalmers University of Technology is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Ports as Energy Transition Hubs (POTENT), funded under Horizon Europe. The research focuses on advancing the modeling, simulation, and integration of complex energy-digital systems for smart ports. You will engage in interdisciplinary research and industry secondments (DTU Compute and Danfoss Power Electronics), contributing to Europe’s clean energy transition.

Research Focus

  • Develop multi-layer modeling architectures using AADL and Modelica/FMI

  • Design resilience metrics and assessment methods for cyber-physical energy systems

  • Conduct system simulations and collaborate with academic and industrial partners

  • Disseminate research results via open science platforms

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Control, Optimization, or related fields

  • Strong background in modeling and simulation of complex systems

  • Proficiency with digital tools, simulation environments, and academic writing

  • Fluent English communication skills

  • Compliance with MSCA mobility rule (not residing in Sweden >12 months in last 36 months)

Merit:
