Position Overview
This PhD explores root immunity and how microbial effectors shape belowground plant–microbe dynamics. The student will use transcriptomics, CRISPR/Cas9, promoter-reporter systems, and advanced microscopy.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify root immune regulators and effector targets
- Perform plant-pathogen interaction assays
- Use imaging techniques to observe root immune responses
- Manage microbial cultures and root infection systems

Candidate Requirements
- MSc in Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Biotechnology
- Some experience with molecular biology or CRISPR is desirable
- Interest in root biology and defence mechanisms
