Position Overview
Professor Amit Kumar, Canada Research Chair in Assessment of Energy Systems, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate to join a dynamic research group working on energy and environmental systems engineering. The role focuses on integrated resource planning and modeling for energy demand and supply, with applications in policy and decision-making for sustainable energy futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in energy forecasting and planning.
- Develop integrated resource planning models (e.g., LEAP, MARKAL).
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and international partners.
- Supervise junior researchers and contribute to proposal writing.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- PhD in engineering or related discipline with emphasis on energy systems.
- Experience in integrated resource planning and modeling tools (LEAP, MARKAL).
- Strong independent research and communication skills.
