Postdoctoral Opportunity in Plant Stress Physiology – EPFL, Switzerland
The newly established Plant Adaptation Lab (PAL) at EPFL is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, focusing on plant adaptation to salinity stress.
This position offers a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of plant stress biology, combining in situ cryo-elemental imaging, genetics, and spatial omics to explore how plants—particularly Arabidopsis and halophytes—adapt to high-salinity environments.
🔍 Research Focus Includes:
Cellular stress responses to sodium toxicity
Comparative ion physiology across species
High-resolution elemental imaging and omics integration
🧬 Ideal Candidate Profile:
PhD in Biology
Background in plant physiology or developmental biology
Interest or experience in advanced imaging (e.g., NanoSIMS)
Strong communication skills and scientific writing experience
