Join the cutting-edge research group of Dr. Jian-Feng Mao at the Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) to explore the uncharted world of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) using artificial intelligence. This postdoctoral project, funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, aims to revolutionize plant genomics through deep learning, self-supervised models, and graph neural networks.

• AI-driven identification and annotation of plant lncRNAs

✅ Eligibility and Requirements

• PhD in bioinformatics, machine learning, computational biology, genomics, or a related field (within 3 years or with justifiable exceptions)

• Strong background in Python programming or equivalent

• Experience in deep learning and sequence modeling is highly valued

• Demonstrated interest in biological data science and AI

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

• Self-driven and team-oriented

💼 Position Details
🕒 Duration: 2 years (starting Fall 2025 or upon agreement)
💶 Stipend: 348,000 SEK/year (tax-free)
