The Center for Functional Proteomics, led by Prof. Christian Münch, invites applications for an expert in MS-based proteomics to join their cutting-edge proteomics unit at Goethe University Frankfurt. The Center operates top-tier instruments including Q Exactive HF, Orbitrap Fusion LUMOS, Orbitrap Ascend, and soon Tims TOF Ultra 2, supporting research in proteostasis, autophagy, cancer, infection, ageing, and more.

🔬 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust quantitative proteomics workflows 
  • Support diverse biological proteomics projects through collaboration and expertise 
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure instrument performance 
  • Generate, analyze, and communicate high-quality proteomics data 
  • Advise and train researchers on proteomics methodologies 

💡 Candidate Profile

  • PhD (or equivalent) in life sciences or related disciplines with a strong proteomics background 
  • Experience in sample prep, LC-MS (ideally Orbitrap systems), and proteomics data analysis 
  • Familiarity with precursor/reporter ion quantification, PTM analysis 
  • Programming skills in R and/or Python 
  • Willingness to expand into advanced methods such as PRM, DIA, automation, and single-cell proteomics is a plus
