The Center for Functional Proteomics, led by Prof. Christian Münch, invites applications for an expert in MS-based proteomics to join their cutting-edge proteomics unit at Goethe University Frankfurt. The Center operates top-tier instruments including Q Exactive HF, Orbitrap Fusion LUMOS, Orbitrap Ascend, and soon Tims TOF Ultra 2, supporting research in proteostasis, autophagy, cancer, infection, ageing, and more.
🔬 Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust quantitative proteomics workflows
- Support diverse biological proteomics projects through collaboration and expertise
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure instrument performance
- Generate, analyze, and communicate high-quality proteomics data
- Advise and train researchers on proteomics methodologies
💡 Candidate Profile
- PhD (or equivalent) in life sciences or related disciplines with a strong proteomics background
- Experience in sample prep, LC-MS (ideally Orbitrap systems), and proteomics data analysis
- Familiarity with precursor/reporter ion quantification, PTM analysis
- Programming skills in R and/or Python
- Willingness to expand into advanced methods such as PRM, DIA, automation, and single-cell proteomics is a plus
