Nalanda University, an international and postgraduate research-focused institution under India’s Ministry of External Affairs, invites expressions of interest and CVs from distinguished and meritorious candidates—including Indian nationals (including PIOs and OCIs) and foreign nationals—for full-time academic positions. This is a rolling advertisement, with applications accepted throughout the year. Suitable candidates will be considered in phases, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to deliver presentations/seminars followed by interviews. Prior applicants are encouraged to reapply with updated information. Initial appointments are made on a three-year tenure basis, with the potential for renewal or confirmation based on exemplary performance. The university provides accommodation with high-speed internet and other facilities.

Eligibility Criteria

• Professor: Ph.D./postdoctoral qualification with an outstanding academic record, at least 3–7 years of experience at the Associate Professor level, over 10 publications, and experience in guiding doctoral research. 
• Associate Professor: Ph.D./postdoctoral, 3–5 years of teaching and research experience, at least 8 publications, and experience in guiding doctoral research. 
• Assistant Professor: Ph.D., strong academic record, and relevant teaching/research experience in line with institutional norms. 
• Librarian: Criteria aligned with academic/librarian qualifications and experience (details as per institutional norms). 

Require expertise, skills
Demonstrable excellence in both research and teaching, with a robust interdisciplinary or comparative approach. A strong research plan, willingness for collaborative and institution-building roles aligned with Nalanda’s ethos, and innovative course design are encouraged.

Salary details – if available

• Professor: USD 30,000–45,000 per annum 
• Associate Professor: USD 20,000–35,000 per annum 
• Assistant Professor & Librarian: Compensation aligned with university-approved pay scales (US-denominated for faculty)
